ASLA VIDEO: ENERGY EFFICIENT HOME LANDSCAPES

Landscape design is an important, and often overlooked, piece in the energy efficiency puzzle.   Consider this statistic quoted by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA):

If placed strategically, trees can reduce summertime cooling energy needs by 7-47 percent and wintertime heating needs by 2-8 percent.

To learn more, watch this three minute video from ASLA.

 It covers:

  • Tree Placement (temperature regulation, wind breaks, and solar panel efficiency)

  •  Green Roofs (insulation)

  • Green Walls (cooling)

  • Solar Panel Placement
